MANILA, Philippines - Iconic British luxury car brand Jaguar and its outdoors-loving brother Land Rover have a found a new Philippine home in the heart of Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
The new JLR Lifestyle and Activity Center, one of the brand's biggest Asia-Pacific showrooms, was launched Thursday.
Wellington "Willie" Soong, chairman and president of Jaguar Cars Inc. and LRPhils Motors Inc., said the world-class facility is the culmination of meticulous planning - from conceptualization to execution.
"We have to move to a bigger facility due to the increasing number of brands," Soong said. "Making this significant decision is fundamentally driven by space, and we are lucky to have the chance to have an area which gives us the visibility and prominence for our brand."
"This move will signify a greater commitment to our clients," he added.
British Ambassador to the Philippines Stephen Lillie and celebrity Gretchen Barreto joined car enthusiasts and automotive industry figures at the launch of the facility, which is located at 32nd St. and 4th Ave., Crescent Park West at Bonifacio Global City.
The center's showpieces are Jaguar's flagship model, the XJ luxury saloon, the Jaguar XF executive model, and the sporty XKR coupe.
Meanwhile, Land Rover models such as the Defender, the Freelander 2, the Discovery 4, the Range Rover Evoque, the Range Rover Sport, and the Range Rover are sure to excite 4X4 all-terrain aficionados.
"The acquisition of the brands, through time, encapsulate the desire and passion of the group in bringing in the greatest brands to our market," Soong said.
