Startech Customizes the 2012 Range Rover Evoque

Startech, a division of the German tuning firm Brabus, will use the Dubai Motor Show to display its take on the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The new styling kit is meant to make the Evoque look more like a car, and improve the crossover’s on-road aerodynamic performance.

The transformation begins with a new front fascia, replete with larger air intakes and a “floating” lower lip design. Startech says the design reduces lift at high speeds. Out back are a new fascia and diffuser, along with restyled exhaust tips that can mate to either the factory Land Rover exhaust, or a custom Startech exhaust which has a “sportier” sound. The company says that its new rear roof spoiler helps improve downforce at speed.

The car rides on 21-inch Monostar R wheels, which are black with white accents. In the future, Startech will make 20- and 22-inch versions of the wheel design available. Lowering springs drop the Evoque by 1.4 inches compared to a stock model. Startech says it will soon launch a tuning kit to improve the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine’s power from the stock rating of 240 hp, though the company didn’t indicate how much power the updates will add.

Interior upgrades comprise a new steering wheel, plus aluminum pedals, foot rest, and shifter. The company will bedeck the inside of the Evoque in any combination of leather and Alcantara the customer desires. The car on show in Dubai will have a combination of black and white leather, as well as carbon-fiber trim pieces, and Alcantara-wrapped pillars with green stitching.

The Dubai Motor Show begins Thursday, November 10.
