A Jaguar Themed Suite at Taj Hotel |
By nearly anyone’s standards, $8,000 per night for a hotel room is a lot of money to spend. On the other hand, what self-respecting Jaguar aficionado wouldn’t pony up the money for a “total Jaguar immersion experience,” especially if it resulted in “strengthened synergy” between companies within Jaguar’s parent, the Tata Group.
Thanks to a partnership between Tata companies Jaguar and Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces, those who bow daily towards Coventry, England, will soon have a new favorite hotel in London. London’s 51 Buckingham Gate Taj Suites and Residences has completed the two-bedroom Jaguar suite, which contains everything a Jagophile could possibly want.
Of course there’s Jag-themed wall art aplenty, including posters, photographs and even framed hood ornaments. Highly-collectible Jaguars of the past are rendered in 1:100 scale and displayed in a “rich oak veneered display case,” and one of the bedrooms even features damask wallpaper printed with Jaguar’s “growler” mascot.
If it sounds a bit over the top, we assure you it isn’t; after all, Jaguar’s own design director, Ian Callum, consulted on the suite’s decor. What is over the top, however, is the cost of a single night’s stay, as The New York Times reports, the Jaguar suite rents for £5,100 per night, or $7,969.77 based on current exchange rates.
That may seem pricey, but part of the total Jaguar immersion experience also includes unlimited transport within London City limits in a Jaguar XJ sedan, breakfast and 24 hour butler service. How you make the most of it is up to you.
