Auto Express magazine has named Range Rover Evoque Car Of The Year

British auto magazine Auto Express announced the best new models of the past 12 months, and the big winner is the Range Rover Evoque.

The glittering ceremony celebrated the top buys in 18 classes of the new car market, as chosen by Auto Express’s expert panel. Key criteria included fuel efficiency, driver appeal, practicality and reliability.

As the lightest and most fuel efficient Range Rover ever, the Range Rover Evoque sends a powerful message that the company is serious about sustainability and is determined to deliver vehicles that are both relevant and highly desirable.

The new Evoque will be offered in both 5-door and coupe (three-door) forms with deliveries to begin from November. The entry point is from $49,995, extending up to $77,395 if you tick all the boxes.

Under the bonnet is a selection of four cylinder engines. The car develops 150, 190 and 220bhp from its range of engine sizes, all of which return excellent fuel economy and don’t compromise on power.

Its arrival will seriously boost the capacity of the plant, to over 100,000 units a year. Yes, the Evoque is going to double the capacity of the UK-Halewood plant, just as it has doubled the workforce this year, to 3000.

Currently Jaguar Land Rover directly employs almost 19,000 people in the UK, and indirectly supports up to 140,000 further jobs through its supply chain, dealer network and associated business operations.
