Tata Motors today said its global sales stood at 85,392 units in July, down six per cent as compared to the same month last year.
"Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 350,565 higher by 4 per cent compared to the corresponding period in 2010-11," the company said in a statement.
Sales of luxury brands from Jaguar Land Rover were flat at 19,119 vehicles in July, Tata Motors said in a statement.
While sales of luxury sedans of Jaguar brand were down 23 per cent last month to 4,372 units, Land Rover sales were up by 8 per cent at 14,747 units, it added.
The cumulative sales of Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal were reported to be six per cent higher at 81,209 units.
It said total passenger vehicles sales stood at 38,154 units in July 2011, down 24 per cent from the corresponding period last year.
The stand alone global sales of Tata passenger vehicles and the distribution offtake in India of Fiat cars also declined by 38 per cent in the period under review at 19,035 units over July 2010.
"Cumulative sales of Passenger cars for the fiscal are 173,163 numbers, lower by 7 per cent," the statement said. The cumulative sales of Tata passenger vehicles and the distribution offtake in India of Fiat cars for the fiscal came down by 16 per cent at 91,954 units.
Commercial vehicles sales were up by 16 per cent to 47,238 units from the same month last year, it added.
The Tata Motors Group's global sales comprise Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles, Tata passenger vehicles, along with the distributed brands in India; Jaguar and Land Rover.
"Cumulative sales of Commercial Vehicles for the fiscal are 177,402 numbers, a growth of 17 per cent," the statement said.
